- Your high speed modem should support v.42 error correction which would
- virtually eliminate the type of problem you describe - instead just going
- slightly slower when the line is noisy, unless you are using an RPI modem
- with software which does not support RPI, or if you have a 2400 - but its
- pretty strange for the line to be bad enough to effect a 2400 connection.
